The £13 million Cath Thom Leisure Centre at Wilson Sports Village has opened to the public, providing a state-of-the-art facility owned by Hyndburn Borough Council. The centre features a four-lane, 25 m swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms, a large changing village including Changing Places facilities, and a health club with a gym, group exercise studio, and wellbeing rooms.
External facilities include sports pitches and an athletic track. Designed by Pozzoni Architecture Limited and delivered by Alliance Leisure, the centre incorporates environmentally-friendly and sustainable solutions, achieving A-rated energy efficiency with fossil fuel-free heating, cooling, and hot water systems powered by solar and energy-efficient technologies.
Turner Samuel acted as Quantity Surveyor on the multi-million-pound groundworks package, ensuring commercial control, cost management, and successful delivery of all enabling and structural works.
